I’ve alwaysthought - such a shame RSC didn’t televise the Hamlet production as they didwith The Wars Of The Roses… Still, I was very surprised to find a mention ofthe documentary called “The Opus”: “this overview of the state of the arts in Great Britain in the 1960's includes a scene from the Royal Shakespeare Company production ofHamlet starring David Warner”.

I guess it’shidden forever in BFI archives :(   Still, other source says it was made for USA TV and broadcast in ’69, while a torrenttracker told me it was made for the 1967 Montreal Worlds Fair and there’s afair chance it can be found in some Montreal library archives . Though, other source states it was made for US broadcast.

If anyonewill ever find it, please let us know!

Also meant to ask, has anyoneheard the audio excerpt that is on the 2005 CD “The Essential Shakespeare”? http://www.rsc.org.uk/shop/item/62025/
I wish theysell separate tracks downloads as well! :(

And, incase you didn’t hear that before, here’s David talking about playing Hamlet
