At the egging on of friends [ 'post it on the david warner forum thing skeeve everyone out gooble gobble there's like no traffic' etc, etc ], I guess I'll secretly chronicle my Warner-flavored adventures in 'more money than sense' from the get-go this time.

I dabble in the wonderful world of ball-jointed dolls, which are, well, big weird customizable dolls made of resin and strung with elastic and that can cost upwards of $2,000. \o/

You can see a scant few examples of them right over here . :V

I also just really like Tron things okay sob sob sob and I've been super disappointed in the ye olde Tron merchandise that coincided with Legacy; or rather, the lack-thereof of ye olde Tron merchandise that coincided with Legacy. I was holding out hope that Hot Toys or Medicom would release a hardcore 1/6 scale Tron and Sark when it was revealed that Disney had given them the Tron licence, but no such luck. OTL

So I decided to make my own damn figure, with blackjack and hookers.

And I decided to do it in the completely stupid and niche 1/3 scale because STILL REALLY HOPING FOR HOT TOYS OR MEDICOM TO DO 1/6 AHHHH.

anyway uh enough of my ranting; I commissioned the unspeakably skilled and talented artist [kinda NSFW oops] to sculpt me a head, which I've been affectionately referring to as 'Uncanny Valley Warner'.

and as I still actually haven't gotten the go-ahead by the artist to post her WIP shots anywhere publicly yet uh i ask that if possible you not post these elsewhere; I aM dOiNg ThIs In ObNoXiOuS sEcReT OTL;;

These are the very first round of WIP's and aaahhhhh I'm estatic:

And I'll be sticking it on an , which in my oppion is one of the only bodies on the market that would work well in emulating Mr. Warner's thin and lanky build. and the award for most awkward sentence of the day goes to

So, I guess I'll be using this thread to chronicle my adventures in making this guy a reality; from casting it to painting it to fInDiNg tHe RiGhT wIg AnD eYes and all that other good stuff. Ultimately I hope to make him a 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN SARK WASN'T IN LEGACY' outfit with liquid latex/liquid rubber/plasti dip/it is a mystery and embedded EL wire and the whole shebang.

tl;dr: oh god i am so, so sorry for aproprating your face mr. warner OTL

i am cartwheeling on 'cease and desist/restraining order' thin ice here i'll tell you what

quiet broken sobbing

Looks a great project, when its finished send us a picture over and I will add it to the Fan contribution gallery where I'm sure David will take a look at it.

Aaaaaaa, I'm super flattered to see such a welcoming response to my big creepy project! ;w;

And Stu; oh, golly - what an honor! ;w; It being finished is still a long way off, but I'll certainly try my best to take some decent photos worthy of the site. Though. Uh. I'm not entirely sure if I actually want Mr. Warner to see me being a total fruit again help how weird his fanbase has become oh god OTL;;; aNd YeT hErE i Am PoStInG iT oN hIs fAn FoRuM. . . .

Also, I didn't really solicit it here because it felt all sorts of awkward, and I really apologize if it's out of line, but on the super off-chance that anyone would be interested in obtaining a copy of this head, you might be able to! :V

I am aiming to get this head professionally cast, and the minimum they're willing to cast is 10 heads - I need at least three people to join up from the get-go so I can off-set the costs, [and even with three people I'll still be shelling out quite a bit just to cast this thing, augh] and so far I have three who are gunning for it, but I could always use a few more participants just in case, haha.

So if anyone would actually interested, it'd be 120 USD per head and I'm game with payment plans of up to two months - though I'm located in the US, and overseas shipping tends to run a bit high. So ultimately it might cost along the lines of 135 USD shipped. :x

I also have insane amounts of positive feedback all over the place, so I'd be happy to supply that to anyone who'd like to see it.

It's been awhile, but the second round of photos are here. ;w;

Although apparently her camera was being uncooperative, and was warping the photos a bit. OTL;; The first photo is most accurate of the head's over-all shape.

 At this point, my gracious sculptor is going to make an apoxy duplicate of the head with instamold as to not compromise the original, and then completely go to town on it with fixing the eyes, giving it legit ears, giving it a headback, going in for more detail work, etc.

Right now is actually the best time to spot any wackiness or request any changes, and the only huge concerns I have are that his jawline and chin/below his lower lip/lower lip in general looks somewhat off. I'm going to redline it and get back to her, but if anyone else sees anything screwy, please do chime in!

I value an outside eye more than I can express, haha.

anyway oh god oh man he's getting there i am excite

and stupid doll hobby problems but oh god if the head ends up taking something smaller than 12mm eyes i'm going to backflip off a bridge ajsj;;sdjf

And another update~

She got a little sidetracked as the apoxy cast didnt come out exactly as she had hoped, and required a fair amount of cleanup.

But, ears and headback will be a thing soon.

Also, what do you guys think about the bottom lip/chin area? [ again, OTL; ]

It's throwing me for a loop like crazy, and I can't quite put my finger on it.

I think it's spot on - from all angles! It couldn't look more like him... Except if it were actually a mold taken directly from his face (due to actual size). This is just awesome. :) The one lying down in the background still looks just like him even at that angle. Amazing workmanship.

I don't know if I'm stupid or lazy or what, but it looks completely fine to me.

Look, it's the most unhelpful person ever! Hurray!

Also I can't get over the thought that this thread is FREAKING DAVID WARNER THE HELL OUT.

I mean I would be.
